Sympathy Hug Jar

Have you ever ran into a situation where you are trying to console someone or show your sympathy but just aren’t sure exactly what to say or how to do it? What about an easy, do it yourself, candy jar. Everyone likes chocolate, right? The extra little DIY touches make it that more meaningful.

What you need:

  • Mason jar
  • Hershey Hugs
  • Burlap or ribbon
  • Embellishment (optional)
  • Some sort of tag
  • Hot glue gun

It’s simple. Fill the mason jar with the chocolate. Hot glue the burlap or ribbon around the jar finishing it off with the embellishment if you chose one. Label the tag and viola, a simple yet thoughtful jar of hugs. Include a little card if you’d like and bring a smile to someone’s face!

Here are some images of a couple that I made for my daughter’s cheer coaches when they lost a friend way too soon. It wasn’t much but we hope it gave them a little bright spot during their time of mourning.
